9th Grade Art Work
Symbolic Map
The symbolic map was a project in which we had to create a country or place in which we would be able to represent ourselves and our likes. First we had to create a rough draft in which we had to draw the place with a shape that will represent us. After that we had to choose 10 symbols that will represent us and add them to the drawing. We had to put 7 different land features for our map too. The map key had to explain what each symbol meant. The name had to represent us. Finally we had to add a unique compass rose. To do this project we first did it in color pencil and then the final product was done in a bigger cardboard and done with paintings.
This project was really fun and interesting because we were able to represent ourselves through painting. In this project I had to put a lot of thinking to make it as best as possible. The hardest part I believe was having to add all the different features and symbols and make them fit into place. Also painting it was hard because I had to be careful not to ruin the project. Sketches
Sketches are not a project made, but instead they are regular drawings and sketches we need to do in order to improve our drawings. A sketch is based completely in the imagination of the artist since a sketch can be anything. To create a sketch anything can be used, color pencils, markers, glitters, magazines or even a collage can be made. The main point of doing sketches is to practice art and to use our own creativity. This artwork has to be done one per week or per class to improve our art skills. Sketches are done at home and made while there is time.
To do sketches is one of the funnest things since a person has to use their own imagination to create them. A sketch is only based on what a person wants to create since it can be anythings as long as it fits into a page. The hardest thing of sketches is to look for what to create and to make it look the best way possible. The easiest part of doing sketches is coloring them or decorating them. Sketches should be fun and are made to each persons criteria. The hardest sketch I created was the one shown of the mask since it took me a long time to put the glitter in it, otherwise I had a lot of fun designing it.

One Point Perspective Room
The goal of this project was to create our own room by drawing it based on one point perspective. First we had to learn how to make a horizon line and a vanishing point to be able to draw this room. To create it, we used a pencil and a blank page, as well as a ruler. This project will help us to become better artists by knowing how to draw in one point perspective and by allowing us to use our creativity to draw a new room.
This project was hard to do since it required a lot of concentration and perseverance to be able to create the room using one point perspective. The hardest part was learning how to make the one point perspective since at the beginning it was really hard to draw like this. To create the objects and know how to join all the different parts to one point perspective was hard. The easiest part was to finish it since after practicing it was much easier to create the room. This project was fun to do though it had difficulties but a lot of creativity was needed.
